Mad Max.....the road warrior

When I was Andrew Rixon

Many years ago when Andrew was about 7 or 8 years old I went to work with my father on a Saturday morning and this is what happened.

I was sitting in the car well dad was inside and I could quite easily see the Victorian police had blocked off the roads around the factory I was at. They had blocked off the roads because there were film crews and they were shooting a movie. As it turned out the movie was the first installlment of the Mad Max movies. I was in a very good position so as I could see most of what was going on. The main road that factory was built on was/is called Cherry Lane. I could see what looked like drag racing going on and there was a man sitting on a stool bolted to the tray of an HX holden one tonner he had a tripod with a camera mounted on it that was also bolted on to the tray.

Mate I remember how fast they where going and at the time I throught if that HX driver fucks up the bloke on the back of the HX is dead. Remember that I didn't know that I was watching Mad Max so I noticed that at the back of the factory(in it's backyard) I noticed that the same people were using the factory as a storage yard. I got out of the car and walked over to the area in the storage yard that they were using. There were all brand new XB Falcon fronts including bonnets and they were all coloured yellow. I remember thinking at the time that it was strange because the only cars in Victoria that were yellow was the Victorian Police Highway Patrol(Candy Cars). There was a caravan and one HX holden front including the bonnet.

Some months later I was home from school and the Mike Walsh Show was on and Mel Gibson was telling Mike about this movie called Mad Max and when they showed Cherry Lane I realized that this was what I'd seen months before.

If one watches the first movie I was sitting in the yard at Footscary Mobile Cranes. Their is a van that pulls out of the yard and gets totaled although I wasn't their when that happened.

Try an understand that I have just realised an engine that hovers above the gound but Dfat blocked access to this page"sorry about that Australia"

Years later!!

Years later when I was about 14 or 15?? my father worked for Able Sheet Metal and together with their tradesman they built a World War One Tank(now at Puckapunyal War Museum) which was then put in the movie ANZAC'S. Because Dad was the only person who could drive it(as inside it was a D4 bulldozer) he got to drive it in the movie. Dad was always pretty strict about going to school but when the movie was being shoot dad used to take me along and I got to see how movies are made first hand . Anyway I meet Paul Hogan and Andrew Clark but I also meet Jon Blake. Remember Jon his to bloke that got badly hurt on his way home from a movie he was shooting. For those who don't know him he was Australia's next Mel Gibson.

Anyway if I ever get the opportunity to release my technology in relations to the cure for cancer I WILL seek Jon out and restore him to the Jon Blake we ALL fall in love with so many years ago. MEANING Australia I'm going to turn around and go back for him, that's what a true Liberal does. Meaning that when your way out in front, as a Liberal YOU ALWAYS turn around and go back for the less fortunate.

So it shell be written, so it shell be done!!!
